Guangdong Science and Technology Department and the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance held a signing ceremony for the establishment of Guangdong Semiconductor Lighting Industry Technology Research Institute and Guangdong Zhongke Hongwei Semiconductor Equipment Co., Ltd. To promote LED core technology research.
Li Xinghua, Director of the Provincial Science and Technology Department, Wu Ling, Secretary General of the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance, Li Jintao, Director of the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Qiu Xianyang, Dean of the Provincial Institute of Industrial Technology, attended the signing ceremony.
It is understood that the LED industry is one of the three major breakthroughs in the cultivation and development of strategic emerging industries in our province. According to the deployment and requirements of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, especially the important instructional spirit of Secretary Wang Yang on promoting LED core technology research, the above parties decided to jointly establish the Guangdong Semiconductor Lighting Industry Technology Research Institute.
The institute will be a common technology innovation platform for Guangdong LED industry with multiple participation and open sharing. At the same time, Guangdong Zhongke Hongwei Semiconductor Equipment Co., Ltd., which was jointly established by the above parties, is guided by the government and market-oriented, and is responsible for the operation of new technology projects such as MOCVD. This will accelerate the comprehensive strategic cooperation of the provincial government, actively integrate resources, overcome the key technologies of the industry chain, and build a public technology platform covering basic raw materials, major equipment, epitaxial process technology, chips, packaging and application technology, etc. Even the sustainable development of the national semiconductor lighting industry provides technical support. The preliminary construction of the institute will cost about 200 million yuan.
