Cree Upgrade XLamp XP

On September 21, Cree announced the launch of its high-power XLamp XP-L2 LED, which offers up to 7% luminous flux and 15% improvement in light efficiency over previous versions of XP-L LED. By adopting key elements of the Cree SC5 technology platform, the new high-power XP-L2 LEDs offer increased lumen density, voltage characteristics and reliability over previous versions. The new XP-L2 LED is further upgraded to help lighting manufacturers quickly improve the performance of existing product designs without having to change the design. It also enables new designs to be smaller and less expensive.

“We like XP-L2 LEDs because it is an innovative product from Cree and we can use it right away,” said Nathan Heiking, product manager at Kenall Lighting. "The new XP-L2 LEDs are smaller than the XP-L LEDs, which allows us to quickly achieve higher system efficacy in existing XP designs without increasing development time and cost.

At 85 ° C, warm white light (3000K, 80CRI), XLamp XP-L2 LED up to 171lm / W. In addition, the upgrade of the light conversion system and the patented EasyWhite technology reduce the color deviation between the LED and the LED, enabling the new Cree XP-L2 LED to achieve narrow to 2-step, 3-step and 5-step MacAdam elliptical tolerances. Color temperature.

Dave Emerson, vice president and general manager of LED Business Unit, said: "Cuiru has created a breakthrough high-power XLamp XP-L LED. After the launch of the new XP-L2, we will continue to maintain the market advantage. The new XP-L2 LEDs are twice as high as other high-power LED lumens of the same size, helping our customers achieve industry-leading lighting system performance while reducing system cost, such as industrial and stadium lighting design applications."
