Brooke Williams doesn't have to go far to find inspiration for the design of the TDA3x Automotive System-on-Chip (SoC) family of products used in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The ADAC business manager just glanced at the photo frame on the table.
"I have three children, they haven't reached the age of driving, but one of them has a driver's license for three years," Brooke from the United States said. The TDA3x SoC incorporates the most intelligent features in the device at a more affordable price, producing the smallest ADAS module on the market, enabling vehicle manufacturers to add ADAS to a wider range of vehicles with unprecedented flexibility and performance.
The TDA3x is a SoC that interfaces with multiple sensors around the vehicle and processes the data into useful information for the vehicle or driver to make safer decisions in dangerous situations. For example, the TDA3x can be used in a front camera system to notify the driver when the vehicle is off lane (LDW) and has advanced safety features. It can also help the vehicle always in the correct lane with lane keeping assistance (LKA). The same system can be used to detect vehicles, pedestrians or objects, automatically brake or turn to ensure the safety of both parties.
The TDA3x provides the driver with a top-down view of the surrounding environment while parking, helping the driver to park, while the TDA3x SoC adds intelligent features such as automatic braking with extensive signal processing.
The TDA3x will also enable a very small form factor camera to add smart features to the rear view camera, again enabling object or pedestrian detection, automatic braking and collision avoidance. This SoC series will also meet the needs of data fusion and radar ADAS applications.
The latest technology behind the TDA3x SoC is based on the continuous innovation of the previously released TDA2x SoC.
