STMicroelectronics Introduces New Mounted Smart Low Power Module
Save space in high-efficiency motor drive circuits
China, July 7 , 2017 - STMicroelectronics SLLIMMTM-nano series IPM products add five space-saving placement smart power modules (IPMs) with IGBT or MOSFET output options for motor internal drives or other Space-constrained drivers with output power ranging from low power to up to 100W.
The new module's turn-on efficiency and switching efficiency are high, especially in hard-switched circuits up to 20kHz. The internal gate drive circuit is capable of suppressing electromagnetic radiation (EMI) to a minimum by managing the switching voltage and current rise rate (dV/dt, di/dt). The high thermal efficiency package enhances product reliability and supports a no-heat sink design, while the 2.7mm creepage distance and 2.0mm clearance ensure safe isolation in a compact dual in-line SMD package. The module pin configuration is re-optimized to simplify board layout.
A variety of home appliances and industrial equipment, such as small fans, electric roller blinds, refrigerator compressors, dishwashers, sewage pumps, hot water circulation pumps, ordinary low-power motors, can be small size from ST's new IPM module, Benefit from high energy efficiency, high reliability, safety and low noise.
In addition to integrated gate drive circuitry and 500V MOSFET or 600V IGBT/freewheeling diode array, other features include a standby op amp and a comparator that allows designers to develop advanced current sense and overcurrent protection with minimal External components. The block mode has built-in high-speed error detection, intelligent shutdown, interlock protection and undervoltage lock protection. The internal bootstrap diode simplifies the power supply design of the module gate control circuit.
The new SLLIMM-nano power modules are STIPNS1M50T-H, STIPNS2M50T-H, STIPNS2M50-H, STGIPNS3H60T-H and STGIPNS3HD60-H, and the rated current can be selected from 1A, 2A or 3A (25°C). All products are available in a one-time molded NSDIP-26L dual in-line surface mount. The engineering samples will be available on the same day, and mass production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2017.
