Briefly introduce the wiring of servo drive system in industrial control

With the development of intelligentization, servo motors now play an important role in robot control systems. It can be said that the force, torque, etc. required by robots are provided by servo motors to ensure their accurate and rapid completion.

In our industrial control, servo motors are required for high precision applications. It is not so much a servo motor as it is a servo system. The working principle of the servo motor can be basically found on the Internet, pulse control, precision positioning, performance and other advantages. Today we briefly introduce the wiring of the servo drive system in industrial control.

Servo drive system is mainly composed of servo motor, servo driver and controller. Servo motor comes with encoder. We use Delta servo drive system of ASDA-B2 servo drive and ECMA-C20604RS to illustrate, the following figure is the system wiring diagram:

The driver mainly includes a control loop power supply, a main control loop power supply, a servo output power supply, a controller input CN1, an encoder interface CN2, and a connection CN3. The control circuit power supply is a single-phase AC power supply. The input power supply can be single-phase or three-phase, but it must be 220v. That is to say, when three-phase input, our three-phase power supply must be transformer-transformed to connect. For smaller power drives, Single phase direct drive, single phase connection must be connected to R, S terminals. The servo motor output U, V, W must not be connected to the main circuit power supply, and it may burn the driver. The CN1 port is mainly used for the connection of the host computer controller, and provides input and output, three-phase output of the encoder ABZ, and analog output of various monitoring signals.

From the above figure, we can see that we only use five of the nine terminals, one shielded cable, two power cables, and two serial communication signals (+-), which are similar to our common encoder wiring.

CN3 communication port

Drive through the CN3 port with the computer PLC, HMI, etc. connected to the upper computer, using MODBUS communication to control the drive, you can use RS232, RS485 for communication.
