Other matters needing attention in lighting design standards

1. Emergency lighting

China's "Code for Residential Buildings" (GB 50368-2005) stipulates that emergency lighting should be provided in stairwells, elevator rooms and front rooms of residential buildings with 10 floors and 10 floors.

In the "Architectural Lighting Design Standards", the illuminance for setting emergency lighting has been specified:

(1) The illuminance value of the evacuation illumination of the evacuation channel is not less than 0.51x;

(2) The illuminance value of the safety lighting is not less than 5% of the general illumination illuminance value of the place;

(3) The illuminance value of the standby lighting shall not be less than 10% of the general illumination illuminance value of the place unless otherwise specified.

2. Choice of light source and luminaire

(1) For rooms with lower heights, it is advisable to use narrow-tube tubular fluorescent lamps;

(2) The store business hall should use a small diameter straight tubular fluorescent lamp, a compact fluorescent stare or a low-power metal halide lamp;

(3) For high-rise industrial plants, metal halide lamps or high-pressure sodium lamps may be used, or high-power thin-tube lamps may be used;

(4) Fluorescent high-pressure mercury lamps should not be used in general lighting places, and self-ballasted fluorescent high-pressure mercury lamps should not be used;

(5) Under normal circumstances, indoor and outdoor lighting should not use ordinary lighting incandescent lamps;

(6) Incandescent lamps can be used in the following locations:

1) Where instantaneous start-up and continuous dimming are required, when other light source technologies are used economically unreasonable;

2) places that are strict in preventing electromagnetic radiation interference;

3) places where switching lights are frequent;

4) places where illumination requirements are not high and lighting time is short;

5) Locations with special requirements for decoration.

3. Lighting considerations for other special occasions

(1) Lighting of library libraries, especially for storing precious materials, should use light sources with little or no ultraviolet radiation;

(2) Lighting of restaurants and bedrooms should use low color temperature light source;

(3) When designing classroom lighting, the long axis of the fluorescent tube should be placed perpendicular to the blackboard to reduce the interference of direct glare.
