U.S. employees score the highest CEO list

The overall ranking of technology company CEOs has declined.

Glassdoor, the latest job search site, announced the results of its annual CEO evaluation. The employees anonymously scored the most popular corporate executives in North America and Europe.

The number of people on the list in the United States also expanded from the original 50 for the first time to 100 this year. The No. 1 CEO is Benno Dorer, which has a 99% support rating (voluntarily scored by 8,000 employees) and replaces Bob Bechek, CEO of Bain & Co., which was ranked No. 1 last year. You may not be familiar with Benno Dorer's name, not to mention that he was not on the list last year (the evaluation number is less than 100), but his company should be heard, is the household cleaning products manufacturer Gao Leshi, Benno Dorer's first career advice to employees is "exploring the path that suits them."

In fact, many of the people on the list this year have eliminated similar people like Elon Musk (ranked eighth) who is also the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. Other top players are not considered well-known executives. Jim Kavanaugh, from the technology company World Wide Technology.

In this list of U.S. regions, the number of CEOs of technology companies has fallen as compared to previous years. The CEOs who dropped out of the top 10 include Apple's Tim Cook, Google's Sundar Pichai, and the software company Mark Benioff of Salesforce.com. Mark Zuckerberg's ranking changed from fourth place last year to tenth place this year.

There is also a new trend worth noting. No woman appeared in the most popular CEO rankings in the United States in 2015. There were 4 in last year and 8 of the top 100 were shortlisted (this, of course, and the overall list of people have increased. Certainly), and among the top 50, there are 3 women, of which the highest ranked (21st) is Pamela Nicholson, CEO of car rental company Enterprise Holding, and the other two are a local fast-food chain on the West Coast of the United States. Lynsi Snyder, owner of N-Out Burger, and Cathy Engelbert of Deloitte, the first female executive to appear in the Big Four accounting firm.

For a long time, most people have an impression that successful women are not as popular in the workplace as men in similar positions. McKinsey & Company has investigated and employed a total of 132 companies employing more than 4.6 million employees. Women demand higher promotions and pay rises than men do, but only a few have finally got their wish because people usually make such demands on women. "Everything is too strong" and "too scary", even if they are later in high positions, the employees don't necessarily feel good about them from the bottom of their hearts.

The Wall Street Journal has an article explaining this phenomenon. The reason is different from what the society expects for male and female. Many people may think that males should be very competitive, preferring to lobby for, and paying more attention to vital interests. But women should play a role in regulating membership in the team, and more attention should be given to the strength of the entire team rather than to themselves.

Even though the support rating of even the 100th CEO on the US regional list is 89%, the average support rate of executives is only 67%, and Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick who only resigned this month, he The support rate is not much higher than the average, about 77%.

In addition, Germany’s most popular CEO is Dieter Zetsche of Daimler. French employees like Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella most. The UK’s most popular CEO comes from a less-known water company, Anglian Water. The popular CEO of Canada comes from a specialized treatment. The sick child's hospital Sickkids.

Of course, many companies and senior executives may not be too concerned about this list of Glassdoor. The lack of comprehensive sample size is a problem, but from another perspective, feedback from some employees is also a reflection of the popularity of CEOs.
